- It's a little early for the spooky season,
- but the spiders in one part of the world have already decorated.
- The Sorek Creek in the mountains of Jerusalem looked somewhat enchanted
- after spiders have woven thick webs throughout the trees and other vegetation.
- The creek reportedly contains treated sewage,
- which provides ample nutrients for a large mosquito population.
- Those mosquitoes are prey for long jawed spiders known as Tetragnatha.
- It takes millions of them to create scenery like this.
- However, the webs will disappear when the spiders do.
- That happens at the end of summer when the mosquitoes die off and they lose their source of food.
- In the middle of that circle of life, we get a few weeks of enchanted forest to marvel at.
