When it is a hot and sunny summer day, lots of people go to the beach.

1. When it is a hot and sunny summer day,
2. lots of people go to the beach.
3. They go to the beach to sit on the sand,
4. sunbathe and swim in the ocean.
5. It is great to relax at the beach
6. and watch the waves of the ocean.
7. People take towels to sit on,
8. sun cream to protect their skin,
9. sunglasses and sun hats to the beach.
10. They normally put all of these things in a beach bag,
11. a bag that they only use when they go to the beach.
12. At the beach, children play in the sea,
13. make sandcastles or look for shells.
14. When they make sandcastles, they use spades to pick the sand up
15. and they put the sand in a bucket.
16. They also use buckets to put the shells in children
17. also like to play in the ocean when they are at the beach they can jump the waves
18. or use a bodyboard to catch the waves a bodyboard is like a surfboard
19. but you don't stand up on it.
20. You lie all your body on it.
21. It is easy for children to use a bodyboard
22. but it is more difficult for them to use a surfboard.
23. When adults are at the beach,
24. they usually like to lie on their towel
25. and watch the waves or sunbathe.
26. But there are other things that they can do.
27. They can read a book,
28. go for a walk along the sea
29. or have a drink at a beach bar.
30. At some beaches you can hire a jet ski,
31. a kayak or a small boat.
32. It is a really fun activity
33. if you are travelling with your family or your friends.
34. You can spend 30 minutes or one hour on these boats.
35. Jet skis and boats are more expensive, but kayaks are normally cheaper.
36. When I go to the beach,
37. I like to swim in the ocean
38. and go for a walk.
39. I like to be active
40. and I don't like to lie on my towel for a long time.
41. I think that it is more exciting to do different activities.
42. And I always wear sun cream.
43. I often take a parasol to the beach.
44. A parasol is an umbrella that
45. you can take to the beach to protect yourself from the sun.
46. It is a great idea if you normally get sunburnt.
47. My favourite beaches in Europe are in Greece, France and Spain.
48. People say that the best beaches in the world are in Mexico,
