  1. Hello and welcome to another episode of Elephant English Podcasts.
  2. Today's video is going to be a little bit different
  3. because I am going to do a speaking practice.
  4. So I'm going to read some questions about weather
  5. and seasons that they might ask you in a speaking exam.
  6. And I'm going to respond to these questions.
  7. So, the first question is, what seasons do you have in your country?
  8. In the UK, we have the four seasons.
  9. We have winter, when it is a little bit cold
  10. and sometimes it snows.
  11. Then we have spring.
  12. When the weather is warm
  13. and there are a lot of flowers
  14. thirdly there is the summer which is hot
  15. but not very hot if we compare it to other countries like Spain
  16. and then finally we have autumn which is similar to spring
  17. but the leaves of the trees fall off
  18. and it is very beautiful.
  19. Which is your favourite season?
  20. My favourite season is summer because it is quite hot
  21. and you can do a lot of things outside.
  22. For example, you can go for a walk on the beach
  23. You can be outside in your garden,
  24. you can have a barbecue or just go to the park.
  25. Is your country popular with tourists in every season?
  26. I think that the UK is popular with tourists in every season
  27. but the most important season for tourism is summer.
  28. There are a lot of people that come to the UK in June, July and August.
  29. But a lot of people come to London, for example,
  30. during all of the year.
  31. In the second part of this speaking test
  32. I have to describe a type of weather that I don't like.
  33. So I don't like rain.
  34. This is not very good because in England there is a lot of rain.
  35. Sometimes it rains every day for two weeks
  36. but other times it only rains once per week.
  37. So it just depends on the week and on the season really.
  38. And the reason why I don't like the rain is because when it is raining,
  39. you can't go outside and do things that you like to do.
  40. For example, you can't go to the beach,
  41. you can't go to the park
  42. and it makes you feel a little bit sad.
  43. In the third part,
  44. I have to give my opinion on some topics.
  45. So, do you think the weather makes people sad or happy?
  46. Yes, I think that when the weather is sunny
  47. and it is very hot, people are happier
  48. because they can do more things
  49. and they can go outside.
  50. But I think that when it is raining
  51. and it is cold, people feel very sad.
  52. The next question is, what are some examples of bad weather?
  53. Well, I think that the main examples of bad weather are rain,
  54. storms and maybe snow.
  55. Snow can be good for some people but other people hate snow
  56. because you can't go to work
  57. or you can't go to school.
  58. But in England, the main examples of bad weather is normally rain or storms.
  59. And finally, the last question is how do you look at the weather?
  60. I normally look online to see what the weather is going to be like.
  61. Google normally tells me what the weather is going to be like today and tomorrow.
  62. But normally I don't look at it.
  63. Only if I'm going to do something special
  64. like for example go to the beach
  65. or go somewhere outside where I know that I can't go if it rains.
  66. So, today we have done a speaking practice about the weather and seasons.
  67. I hope you enjoyed it and that it was useful for you.
  68. I'm going to do this about other topics as well.
